Dr. Asoka de Zoysa is the Director of the Samkathana Research Center and Archive, an interdisciplinary research initiative dedicated to the documentation, preservation, and critical study of cultural, literary, and intellectual traditions in Sri Lanka and beyond. The Center serves as a scholarly platform for research, archiving, and academic dialogue, with a special focus on textual heritage, oral histories, and cross-cultural exchanges.
Under his leadership, the Samkathana Research Center and Archive promotes original research, academic publications, and collaborative projects involving local and international scholars. The Center is committed to safeguarding rare materials and facilitating access for researchers, students, and the wider academic community.
Dr. de Zoysa brings to this role his long-standing academic experience as a retired Professor of German Studies, with research interests that include literary studies, translation, intercultural communication, and research-based pedagogy. Through Samkathana, he continues to foster rigorous scholarship, ethical archiving practices, and sustained intellectual engagement.
